thembi seete cover

Thembi Seete is on the cover of the October True Love Magazine. I love this cover, Thembi has such timeless beauty. The article reminisces about the untimely passing of Lebo Mathosa, her friendship with Thembi and how fame affected her. It’s still a fresh wound for Thembi and the article is so well written that you can feel her pain from losing Lebo. The article is not about Thembi and what she’s currently pursuing. Thembi touches briefly on their mutual love for fashion with Lebo and that love is still evident today, below are some of Thembi’s recent looks.

terry pheto covers true love mag

terry cover

The minute that the September cover of True Love magazine hit the social media streets, everybody was raving about how gorgeous Terry Pheto looks on it. I think the True Love team nailed this one; it’s the perfect way to welcome Spring. Terry looks amazing, I saw her in Hyde Park a few months ago and noticed that she had lost a bit of weight and was looking really good and this cover is the perfect way to show her body off!  The photo shoot spread in the magazine, shot in Zanzibar, is picturesque, the backdrop of the white sands and the beach makes me want to go on holiday! The only thing that disappointed me was the actual article, I expected more substance and there was nothing there that we had not heard before or that was worthy of a cover story. Nonetheless this is a photo shoot is a classic.

nkhensani nkosi covers true love magazine

Nkhensani Nkosi covers the July 2013 issue of True Love Magazine. Nkhensani is the founder of lifestyle fashion brand, Stoned Cherrie and is married to former TV presenter Zam Nkosi. She is turning 40 this year, even though she doesn’t like she’s past her early 30’s and in the article she takes us through themes of every decade of her life. She talks about freedom fighting in her teens, finding love with Zam and being an actress in her twenties, her thriving fashion label, being a businesswoman and settling in to being a mom to her four children in her thirties. Entering into her forties she talks about being healthy, possibly going back on stage to act and continuing to inspire people.

unathi msengana covers true love magazine

Metro FM DJ, Idols judge and singer Unathi Msengana is on the cover of True Love Magazine June 2013 issue. She tells us how she manages to balance all her jobs plus being a wife and a mother. She also touches on her weight loss efforts which have been successful so far and she has almost reached her goal weight after giving birth in 2011. She talks about her relationship with her husband and how he was the reason she pursued a career in radio.

“He inspires me to be my best… Radio has always been a part of the DNA that makes up our relationship”

Unfortunately the timing of Unathi’s cover hitting the shelves has coincided with some drama surrounding her demeanour on her breakfast show at Metro FM. One of the listener’s wrote an open letter to Unathi citing her grievances, Metro FM has responded to the letter and is going to discuss the matter with Unathi and hear her side of the story as well.

the games we play

I found pictures of an old True Love Magazine fashion shoot which featured South African female personalities and the concept was the games we play and it was by Sthandiwe Kgoroge. If you grew up in the township you will see within the concept games like 3 tin, jump rope, masgenda etc. I remember seeing this shoot in the True Love magazine and I loved it, I wish they would do something lie this again which would not only be nostalgic for their readers but something that they can also all relate to. The fashion shoot features Unathi Msengana, Sonia Sedibe, Wanda Baloyi, Terry Pheto, Moshidi Motshegwa & Mmabatho Montsho.
