Rihanna and MAC Cosmetics have taken their relationship to the next level. Rihanna has been announced as the new spokesperson for Viva Glam, MAC’s global AIDS and HIV campaign. Rihanna will be taking over from Nicki Minaj and will release the Viva Glam charity lipstick for next year.
My birthday is on Halloween, the 31st of October so I disappeared a little from the blog to celebrate. the best thing is that people around the world are celebrating it and here are a few interesting Halloween costumes that the celebs wore.
Beyonce was an angel, probably inspired by her song “Halo”
One of my favourite costumes this w year was worn by Keri Hilson and her boo Serge Ibaka went as Lisa McDowell and Akeem from the movie “Coming to America”.
Brandy went as Freddy Kruger
Tika Sumpter was Nefertiti, so gorgeous and Sanya Richards Ross was Florence Griffith Joyner.
J-lo and her boo Casper went as Ninja’s.
Christina Milian was a hood Minnie Mouse.
Angela Simmons was Pocahontas, so cute.
Rihanna was a zombie gangster chic.
Tamar Braxton was Snow White.
Zendaya Coleman was Aaliyah.
Miley Cyrus as Lil Kim
Heidi Klum as an old lady, this looks so freakin real.
Just the other day Riri’s MAC collection was hitting the stores here in SA, I actually went to the store in Sandton City and found literally nothing left (by nothing I mean the good colours were gone). I think it’s safe to say that her collection has been a hit.
Well we can get excited again because Rihanna is going to release a third collection with MAC Cosmetics, yay! The third collection is going to include red lippie and red nail polish. I am really hoping that she can also include some Candy Yum Yum like colours, something bright & fun. Well it’s only a matter of time before it hits our shores, so don’t say I didn’t tell you!
I am a serial concert goer but we decided to skip Rihanna, she just didn’t excite us. Based on tweets and Facebook statuses some people loved it and others expected more from her, so all around she did good. Rihanna made history last night by being the first female to perform for the biggest crowd ever, which was about 70 000 people crammed into FNB stadium, crazy!
Riri really embraced SA, she even had a manicure of the SA flag and also took some time out and bonded with some wildlife. She wore a ‘Fame’ t-shirt, barely there shorts (yes there are shorts under there) and camouflage boots from her River Island collection.
Minnie Dlamini posted a pic on Instagram of her rocking heels that look very much like Azzedine Alaia circle sandals. Kim Kardashian has been rocking these heels throughout most of her visit in Paris with her boo Kanye West for Paris Fashion Week. Rihanna also wore the same heels a while ago. Despite them being different colours, who do you think wore them best?
My favourite good girl gone bad is on the cover of Glamour Magazine in the US, actually I don’t know if I really like Rihanna right now after she her mean-spirited twar with Teyana Taylor two weeks ago, simply because she started it. Anyways Rihanna poses on the cover in her jerry curl and she talks about her fashion inspiration and why Nicole Richie pisses her off.
On her new show Styled to Rock:
“I felt like there were all these talented people in New York who had a very keen eye for style and design, but I couldn’t find them [to work with]. I get excited by discovering new designers. I’m obsessed with being first with everything in fashion.”
On her fashion inspo:
My love for fashion—let me say, my admiration for fashion—started with my mom. I used to watch her get dressed. She was around my age right now, and she was so fly. So fly. I remember not even knowing how to do that because I was such a tomboy.”
On who’s on her best dressed list:
“Oh my God, are you kidding me? Nicole Richie. She just pisses me off, she’s so good. But you know who is the best who ever did it? Princess Diana. She was like—she killed it. Every look was right. She was gangsta with her clothes. She had these crazy hats. She got oversize jackets. I loved everything she wore.”
The difference between Robyn and Rihanna:
When people call me Robyn, my head just flies around because I feel like that person knows me. But Rihanna, that tends to be people’s own [creation]. Robyn is who I am. Rihanna—that’s an idea of who I am.”
To all those going to the Rihanna concert this weekend, have fun!
